He shook my hand.

BismiLLAHirrahmanirrahim. Assalamualaikum warahmatuLLAHi wabarakatuh. اللهم صل على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم I watched this video earlier and it triggered my memories. One or two years back, I was invited by one of my closest friend who live nearby. Her name is Farah Aisyah by the way :) She was having a feast for her relatives and really we were close and still is insyaALLAH. So I went there and stayed until the last minute. I was wearing my usual hijab and all. And believe me it was a long-enough hijab. I will explain why I mention this afterwards insyaALLAH. There was a women and a child left. They were waiting for her husband, who is a relative of Farah if I'm not mistaken. He showed up at last, ate some food and was ready to leave. We all stood up, as a sign of respect and they shook hands with each other. Suddenly, he offered his hand to me. And I was like -- EH? The first thing that crossed my mind was, "Hadn't he see my hijab...

One and Only.

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Assalamualaikum w.b.t. She cries silently in her room, with the lights on and the fan spins. She sat alone in her room, with the sun down, a night without rain. She had never told her friends, how she felt of leaving. She had never told her family, how she felt of everything. Little that they all know, all the words she whispered to Him. Neither that they all know, all the suffering she referred to Him. The One and Only, the Almighty Rabb. Allahu Rabbi. "How did this happen exactly?" She asked herself. From wires to veins. and oil to blood. From robots to humans, and calculator to stethoscope. "Oh." She thought. It was Allahs' plan for her. And that is what she will be facing. From thick classic English novels, to large volumes of Sahih Bukhari. From a range of classical piano arrangements, to qasidah and recitation of the Holy Quran. She had changed. And the change s will keep coming. Until she b...

Husn al-Khulq.

Assalamualaikum w.b.t. It turns out that to write something daily, and to make conclusions out of it is easier than to make an educational post through out the passages. Perhaps, it it just because of the nature of my liking to write things first; or it just how the way people like to read it. However, me and my classmates had previously made a brief summary of the Characteristics of Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h for our Basic Themes of al-Quran assignment. It occurred to me, during Itime that one can have a sophisticated work of journalism if efforts are thrown into it. Not that I don't have the effort now to make another, but the necessity and reality of a minor part of Malaysian students who prefers to read and understand rather than to comprehend and react. What we had done for our assignment was to study a few articles and books about Akhlaq (Good Characteristics) in the point of view of a Muslim - what Muslims suppose to be etc - and what had our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w...

at-Tanbih.

Assalamualaikum w.b.t. [Bertarikh 19 September-Rabu] Syarah Kitab at-Tanbih. Perkara yang tidak dibuat Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. Ada dua makna: Pertama, mubah. Kedua, peluang untuk orang yang mampu. ***** Ditakdirkan, hari ini bermula dengan... sangat cepat. Seawal 7 pagi sudah tiada di bilik, sedangkan kelas terakhir bermula pukul 2 petang selepas Zohor. Rabu, menandakan hari pemakaian hijab putih. Cepat sahaja tangan menyarungkan hijab hitam. Bukan melanggar peraturan, tapi memang tiada hijab berwarna lain. Melangkah seorang diri. 3600 saat kemudian, melihat telefon, menelefon Fatin Husna. "Jom, sarapan.” Mendapat persetujuan, menelefon Nur Aini. "Jom, sarapan.” Keduanya minta ditungggu. Khair sahaja. Melangkah seorang diri. Ke Mahallah Zainab al-Jahsy. Pertama kalinya menjejakkan kaki ke dalam common room. Ada pepatah yang ditulis di dinding. Penting, tapi ana lupa. Allah, pelupanya insan ini. Adakah di anta...

Reasons: "Why I didn't blog."

Assalamualaikum w.b.t. This is somewhat, contradict to Reasons: Why People Should Have Blog? I have been in the semester break for quite a while right now. Having to work, baking actually for several days in a row. Helped ami with hers and stumbling around here and there in my house. I had, really, searching for my way how to survive in real world. In CFS, of course, I had my own schedule. I had my goal of what to do every day. There will be usual classes, talaqqi, tasmi' classes and ta'lim. There will be certain time, that I can choose to be alone. Walking about Block E or sometimes SMAWP3. There will be, if I had the chance, travelling around. What I had learnt about travelling was, it is hard to cope with the real world. Yes, even I can't deny it, there will be people not covering their aurah properly, people who dates, people who smoke and such such. All these people are Muslims. And that, kept my mind occupied. Thinking. What would I have been, if ...

Peringatan.

Assalamualaikum w.b.t. (Hadith Riwayat Imam Muslim). Bukan senang, nak cuci hati. Perluka ...

Deviate,

Assalamualaikum w.b.t. What should I say, if I could say. Writings, write things, are very subjective. Perhaps, perhaps. For this post, particularly, I was perplexed. What should I write, now that I could. I could write a story, I know. I could write a story and then people will take note, I know. But, this time, this moment. This is me. From Amirah Hazwani to you. To whom, who have choices and need to choose. For a moment now, let us thank Allah truly and gratefully. We still have choices, and yet we are spending time after time to choose. I had chosen before. I had been chosen before. One of those choices were IIUM and Automotive Engineering. Why these two? Because those choices determine my future. Not that I would say that it is entirely depends on my choices, but a tiny percentage of it, yes. The rest, it is up to Allahu Rabbi. I was excited, really. IIUM is, well, International - Islamic - University - Malaysia. And automotive, well... It is my dream. It ...

Things are hard and yet...

Assalamualaikum w.b.t. Once, back then, I wrote in this blog. Once, I refer CFS 190 as “the reason I stay.” And now we are not 190 anymore. You can't deny, we are not. So I don't have any reasons left. Ami is making me come back to Shah Alam every week now. Well, it will be just for another 6 months. I got the letter and I was like, “Oh, I got it.” Here in CFS, we are having our mid term. I was completely content with my situation right now until I saw each one of you. Why again, I might ask, we must bumped out with each other? I saw those of 190, and it tore me apart. Whatever I had in my mind, I don't even care. I don't care about those 194 and them who I didn't want to know. I didn't even know their names. I know it might not be good for me to stuck in the moment, especially in memories. It happened last year, I reminded myself but I think it takes time. Time will change everything, insyaAllah. I was having a conversation with S...
